Catemusinorrath

An outsider whose true name Viola overheard.

Description: A small form, vaguely humanoid with an oversized face and mouth. Its small hand is reaching into a bag at its side. It puts something in its mouth, and closes it. It chews, looking out at you with oversized circular eyes. It doesn’t seem to blink. It hasn’t yet.

Conversation 1: 5/31/17 – Log
Me: “Can you speak?”
Cat: “Yes.”
Me: “What are you?”
Cat: “Late.”
Me: “Look. How about I make it worth your while? I give you some gold and you give me your life story in 3 sentences”
DM: It holds out its tiny, tiny hand.
Cat: “I once was not. Then one fat ugly thing met more fat ugly things, and they threw flesh into and on top of each other until I was created. I eat dreams.”
Me: “That is extremely vague and confusing. What do I call you? Or are you okay with me calling you Catemusinorrath?”
Cat: “Call me Catemusinorrath. Tell no one.”
Me: “Where did you come from?”
Cat: “I was eating a dream of flying. Up. Toward the spot a moon wasn’t. My gold.”
DM: You hand him the gold and he disappears.
Conversation 2: 9/28/17 – Log
Me: “Hello Catemusinorrath. I got more gold for you if you can tell me who the ‘Great Betrayer’ was that summoned people in the temple district the night the moon disappeared”
Cat: “You want a tricky thing, I bring you a tricky thing. I’ve eaten your dreams… and they taste of fear and confusion.”
Me: “Okay? What do my dreams have to do with my question?”
Cat: “Because the moon never disappeared – it just moved. I cannot answer your question, its not right!”
Me: Pearce narrows his eyes “Can tell me who the ‘Great Betrayer’ was that summoned people in the temple district the night the moon was moved”
Cat: “Nobody was summoned! They asked and one responded. Its not right!”
Me: “Can you tell me who the ‘Great Betrayer’ was that answered the call in the temple district the night the moon was moved” Pearce says through gritted teeth.
Cat: “Yes… I tell you who she is. She says she is a daughter, and a caregiver, and a friend to a bag of bones and a god of magic. But she isn’t. She betrayed the Trickster himself. She is the Great Betrayer – hidden amongst the lambs of man, the little things, she made deals behind his back… deals with the blackness of far-off places. Deals that only hurt! Only hurt. Her dreams are delicious.” He holds out his hand.
DM: You give him 20 gold which he greedily grabs before disappearing.
